Assessment of COVID-19 in Quebec | 429 new cases, two deaths

Quebec reported 429 new cases of COVID-19 and two additional deaths on Sunday. Hospitalizations are down.

The Department of Health and Social Services has identified 429 new cases of COVID-19. The new cases reported on Sunday bring the daily average to 422.

The most recent data in the province show two new deaths. We now deplore 11,195 deaths linked to COVID-19 since its appearance in Quebec.

The number of hospitalizations has fallen to a total of 250 people hospitalized today, five less than the day before. There are now 65 people in intensive care, a decrease of three.

The number of tests performed on 23 October was 28,093. The positivity rate is 1.3%, still below the 5% threshold recommended by the World Health Organization.

The number of active outbreaks increased slightly from 487 to 488.

Vaccination continues

The Ministry of Health says more than 9,000 additional injections have been administered. Of those, 3,370 people reached out for the first time on Saturday.

So far, 90% of the population aged 12 and over have received their first dose and 86% have received their second dose.
