The Ministry of Health reports a further drop of 71 occupied beds in connection with COVID-19. This decrease translates into 131 new entries and 195 exits. To date, however, 2,143 people remain hospitalized due to the virus. In intensive care, that number is 153. This is down 11 from the previous day.

Authorities reported 2,359 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the average number of cases to 2,655 per day. It should be remembered, however, that screening is limited and that these data are largely underestimated.

The seven-day average of new cases stands at 2,655, down more than 14% from last Saturday.

The number of active outbreaks decreased from 1134 to 1130.

A total of 20,736 analyzes were performed on Friday. The positivity rate remained at 11.0%.

No less than 33,661 doses of vaccine have been administered in the past 24 hours, including only 705 first doses to children aged 5 to 11 and 24,165 booster doses.

The percentage of people aged 5 and over who received a first dose is still around 91%. It is also reported that approximately 86% of the Quebec population received a second dose and that approximately 49% received a booster dose.
