Assessment of COVID-19 in Quebec | 1982 new cases, four deaths

Quebec reported Saturday 1982 new cases of COVID-19 as well as four additional deaths. The number of hospitalizations is on the decline, as five fewer have been recorded.

Santé-Québec indicates that the number of new cases adequately vaccinated exceeded that of the unvaccinated: 972 against 970.

The new cases bring the seven-day average daily case to 1,550.

A total of 251 people are hospitalized as a result of COVID-19. Of this number, 63 are in intensive care.

The number of active outbreaks increased from 955 to 1,035.

A total of 39,913 analyzes were performed on December 9. The positivity rate increased three-tenths of a point to 5.1.

No fewer than 34,364 doses of vaccine have been administered over the past 24 hours, including 11,845 first doses to children aged 5 to 11 and 18,359 booster doses.

As of Friday, 82.7% of Quebecers have received at least one dose of vaccine, and 78.2% of the population is considered to be adequately vaccinated. Regarding the 5 to 11 age group, 35.7% of them received their first dose.
