Assessment of COVID-19 | 478 new cases, five deaths

(Montreal) Quebec reported on Thursday 478 new cases of COVID-19 and five additional deaths.






Of the new cases, 293 are people not vaccinated or who received a single dose less than 14 days ago, 23 had only received a single dose at least 14 days ago and 162 had received a second dose at least seven days ago.

The province’s death toll now stands at 424,291 people infected since the start of the pandemic, as well as 11,490 deaths.

254 hospitalizations were reported Thursday, a decrease of three compared to the day before. Of these patients, 67 are in intensive care, an increase of one person.

Nineteen people entered the hospital on Wednesday. Of these, 13 were unvaccinated or had only received a single dose less than 14 days ago and six had received a second dose at least seven days ago. Of five people who entered intensive care, four were unvaccinated or had only received a single dose less than 14 days ago and one had received a second dose at least seven days ago.

A total of 32,889 samples were taken on October 26.

Regarding vaccination, 13,174 doses were administered in the last 24 hours in Quebec, for a total of 13,209,715. Outside the province, 215,977 doses were received by Quebecers.

The Institut de santé publique du Québec reports that 79.3% of the population has received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Among those 12 years and older, 90.5% have received at least one dose and 87.7% are adequately vaccinated.
