Assessment of COVID-19 | 342 new cases, four deaths

The number of new cases of COVID-19 in Quebec is 342 for the last 24 hours, and four new deaths have been recorded, according to Tuesday’s report from the Ministry of Health.

The number of hospitalizations fell from 303 to 297 from Monday. There were 25 new hospitalizations and 31 discharges. The number of COVID-19 patients in intensive care has also declined, from 77 to 75.

The reduction in the severity of the fourth wave therefore continues. During Friday’s report, 676 new cases and 6 deaths had been announced, and on Monday 410 new cases and 5 deaths.

The number of vaccine doses administered in the past 24 hours was 6,705, up from 5,186 on Monday and 13,279 on Friday.

In addition, a quarter of Quebecers have started working from home and three quarters have less satisfaction in their social life because of the pandemic, according to a study published Tuesday by the Institut de la statistique du Québec.

Three quarters of Quebecers worried about the health of a loved one, 5% increased their cigarette consumption, and the proportion of those who increased and decreased their alcohol consumption is almost similar, respectively 14% and 17% .
