Assessment of COVID-19 | 1,171 new cases, three deaths

Quebec is reporting 1,171 new cases of COVID-19 as well as three additional deaths on Saturday. The number of hospitalizations has decreased, as one less person is hospitalized due to the consequences of the virus.

The cases reported on Saturday bring the seven-day average of new daily cases to 870.

Santé-Québec indicates that 714 of these 1,172 new cases had not been vaccinated or had received a first dose less than 14 days ago. Four hundred and forty-five newly infected people had received two doses for at least seven days.

A total of 205 people are hospitalized as a result of COVID-19. Among them, 48 patients are in intensive care, five more than the day before.

Three new deaths have been added to the death toll. We now deplore 11,574 deaths linked to COVID-19 since its appearance in Quebec.

As of Friday, 80% of Quebecers have received at least a first dose of vaccine. Of this number, 77.8% are adequately vaccinated.
