ASM knows its calendar for the 2022/2023 season of the Top 14. The National Rugby League has just unveiled it this Thursday, July 7.
The Jaunards will start their season on the weekend of September 3 with a trip to Paris, to face Stade Français. They will receive the Pau Section the following weekend at the Marcel-Michelin.
The calendar will begin to thicken from the third day, with a trip to Toulon. But it’s mostly from the 4th day things will get complicated. Jono Gibbes’ men will travel to La Rochelle, reigning European champions, before hosting LOU, winners of the European Challenge and playing in Toulouse on the weekend of October 8 for the sixth day.
A busy month of December
December will also be a busy month for ASM. The weekend of December 3, for the 12th day, Clermont will host Montpellier, the champion of France. It will then be the start of the European Cup before a fanfare return of the Top 14 on December 24 and the first leg of the Massif Central derby opposite Brive, in Corrèze. The Clermontois will host Toulouse on December 31 for the first match of the return phase.
The second round of the derby against CA Brive will take place at the Michelin during the 21st day, the weekend of March 25. ASM will face promoted Aviron Bayonnais on 5 November and 13 May. The Clermontois will close their season with the reception of Racing 92 on May 27.
Beginning of the final stages on June 2
The final stages will begin on the weekend of June 2. The semi-finals will take place for the first time in Spain, in San Sebastian, the following weekend. The final is scheduled for June 17 at the Stade de France.
The exact days and times of the matches are not yet known. Six will take place on Saturday and one on Sunday evening.
