Already in a delicate situation for the maintenance in Ligue 1, AS Saint-Etienne will not be able to count on its supporters during its next away matches, in the league and in the Coupe de France. The Disciplinary Committee of the French Football Federation sanctioned the club, Thursday, January 20, the closure of the visitors’ area outside until the end of the season, after the incidents caused by its supporters during the round of 16 of the Coupe de France against Jura-Sud on January 2.
From the start of the meeting, supporters of the Greens had lit smoke bombs and even launched fireworks from their parking lot in the Bram de Louhans park. The match was interrupted for about twenty minutes. ASSE will also have to pay a fine of 50,000 euros and reimbursement of costs related to the damage caused.
