AS Panazol is preparing for the biggest challenge in its history

Roger trembles just talking about it: “I have been with the club for 50 years but I had never experienced that. The ASP is everything for me, I come every weekend and tomorrow we will see an 8th round of the Coupe de France, here.” The AS Panazol club has been preparing for several days to make its first 8th round of the Coupe de France against Angoulême at 2 p.m., a real celebration of football.

The drums are ready, a tifo will light up the stands of the Morpiénas stadium this Sunday, the yellow and blue balls in the club’s colors will be everywhere …“It’s a lot of logistics and administration in addition to the atmosphere aspect”, explains Franck Malhieu, the treasurer. “We must adapt to safety, the Covid rules … But this Sunday it will be above all a party and we hope with a happy ending for this club!”

Tickets on sale from 1 p.m.

There won’t be something for everyone. The ticket office should open around 1 p.m. There will be 390 seats in the stands and the rest will have to be placed around the field (10 euros and 5 euros). The mask will be compulsory in the enclosure like the sanitary pass.

The refreshment bar has already filled up with a lot of hot drinks because the weather is going to be very complicated this Sunday. “We will do with”, smiles Michel, a volunteer at the ASP. “Our players are ready for this meeting. Mentally, they will not give up and we will go all the way to qualify.”

Manage my choices

The public will be important in this match which seems unbalanced on paper. Angoulême is playing in National 2 while AS Panazol is playing in Regional 2. There are therefore three levels which separate the two teams. “It’s the Coupe de France”, retorts Christelle Noir, general secretary of the club. “We are capable of the feat, we have already done it. We will go with enormous motivation and we will push them from the stands and the edge of the pitch. “

This motivation, the players and the coach do not need to look for it very far because in the event of a new exploit this Sunday, AS Panazol would be qualified in the 32nd final synonymous with the entry of the Ligue 1 teams. Roger already dreams of it: “We could with luck welcome PSG to Beaublanc, that would be crazy!”
