The 7th round of the Coupe de France football match between UL Plantières (R2) and AS Nancy Lorraine (Ligue 2) scheduled for Sunday, November 14 continues to generate ink and saliva. A time mentioned in Picot because of the costs of organizations too heavy to bear for the amateur club, the meeting was finally relocated to the Saint-Symphorien stadium in Metz, thanks to the financial support of local communities and FC Metz.
But the meeting will ultimately be without the supporters of AS Nancy Lorraine. The prefecture of Moselle took this Wednesday, November 10, a decree prohibiting “to any person availing himself of the quality of supporter of AS Nancy Lorraine or behaving as such, to access the Saint Symphorien stadium and to circulate or park on the public highway“within a defined perimeter. The decree evokes the tensions between ultra supporters of AS Nancy Lorraine and FC Metz who could take advantage of this match to do battle.
The ASNL ultras do not want to stop there
Anger from the ultras of Saturday FC, the main group of supporters who denounce in a press release the decision taken by the Moselle authorities. The ultras believe that this decree “stirs up anger and injustice” “for the sake of economy and to limit individual freedoms”. Contacted by France Bleu Lorraine, the group announces an appeal filed this Thursday before the administrative justice to have this prefectural decree annulled.
