Monaco is holding its new coach. On Tuesday July 4, the Austrian Adolf Hütter, nicknamed “Adi” signed as the new coach of the Monegasque club for a two-year contract. The 53-year-old technician succeeds the Belgian Philippe Clément, sacked on June 4 after a disastrous end to the season where AS Monaco finished in 6th place and had to say goodbye to his European dreams.

A month later, it is therefore Adolf Hütter who replaces him, with the challenge of returning to Europe. This is the fifth foreign coach in a row appointed by President Dimitri Rybolovlev since Thierry Henry (2018-2019). This former Austrian international notably passed through RB Salzburg where he completed the championship cup double in 2015 before joining Young Boys Bern.

It was in the Bundesliga that the technician made a name for himself, first managing Eintracht Frankfurt (2018-2021) where he was named Germany’s best coach in 2019 by the German daily Picture. He then sat on the bench of Borussia Mönchengladbach (2021-2022), where he was dismissed in May 2022 after a disappointing 10th place. It will start shis first training session with the principality club on Wednesday.
