The poster for the 32nd finals of the competition saw Adi Hütter’s men qualify against those of Franck Haise after a 2-2 draw and a hotly contested penalty shootout (6- 5), Sunday January 7. After only 34 seconds of play, the Lensois were surprised by a goal from Wissam Ben Yedder (1st). Just before the break, Faitout Maouassa revived the Lensois by reducing the score (43rd) and began the Lensoise comeback.

Returning from the locker room, Florian Sotoca was responsible for equalizing by sliding the ball between the legs of Radoslaw Majecki (62nd).
