Artificial intelligence | Quebec grants eight million to the IVADO consortium

The government of Quebec announced a contribution of 8 million until 2026 to IVADO, a research consortium in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).

The Minister of Economy, Innovation and Energy, Pierre Fitzgibbon made the announcement Monday morning at the Science Complex of the MIL Campus of the University of Montreal.

“More precisely, new programs developed by IVADO will provide support to Quebec organizations to adopt and deploy solutions based on AI research, thus supporting their digital transformation,” we can read in a government press release.

Based at the University of Montreal, IVADO brings together four other partners: Polytechnique Montréal, HEC Montréal, Université Laval and McGill University.

“To maintain our leadership in AI in Quebec, we must integrate this technology into our businesses and our SMEs. This means facilitating access to research to train more talents and strengthen our AI ecosystem,” said Minister Fitzgibbon.
