2:39 p.m. : Participation in the strike drops sharply among civil servants compared to last Tuesday, according to the Ministry of Civil Service. It reached 2.7% in the State civil service, 2.2% in the territorial civil service and 4.5% in the hospital.

2:18 p.m. : Protests continue across France against pension reform. The first participation figures are falling, especially in Marseille, where the gap between the count of the police and that of the organizers has rarely been so great.
2:16 p.m. : The first six articles of the bill have now been adopted by a joint committee. The participants will therefore look at the famous article 7, which relates to the postponement of the legal retirement age from 62 to 64 years.

2:14 p.m. : Earlier, the government spokesman, Olivier Véran, added his voice to the criticism of Anne Hidalgo, considering that the mayor of Paris “assume” support for the garbage collectors’ strike “and therefore imposes on Parisians the consequences of this”.
2:14 p.m. : The entourage of Anne Hidalgo tells franceinfo that the municipality has not yet received a request from the State to requisition the means to evacuate the garbage cans which accumulate due to of the garbage collectors’ strike. Gérald Darmanin announced yesterday that he had ordered the prefect of police to make this request to him. This same entourage also ensures that the town hall has neither the intention nor the power to requisition.

11:21 a.m. : no less than 1,046 kilometers of cumulative traffic jams were recorded everywhere in France this morning by Bison Futé, on this eighth day of interprofessional mobilization against the pension reform. This corresponds to a “exceptional level”but it is still slightly lower than what was recorded at the same time last week.

The text will make a parliamentary shuttle for a new reading in the National Assembly, then in the Senate, and finally in the Assembly, if the two versions of the text have still not converged.
