Arthur Teboul and Baptiste Trotignon pay tribute to the most beautiful French songs

The singer of the French group Feu! Chatterton and the jazz pianist inaugurated their new duo on the stage of the 40th Francofolies in La Rochelle. A moment full of grace that they will continue throughout France until the fall.

The lights have just gone out in the Grand Théâtre from the corridor From the Francofolies de La Rochelle, the warm voice of singer Arthur Teboul and the notes of jazz pianist Baptiste Trotignon flood the space as if by magic.

The two musicians offered the Franco audience an enchanted interlude this Thursday, July 11, around French song. A unique duet, all in softness, lulled by intimacy and poetry.

More accustomed to electric concerts, the charismatic singer of Feu! Chatterton fully enjoys this acoustic format. “I’m used to being in a group and having very powerful musicians and being able to protect myself behind that. This nudity, this fragility, this vulnerability is in me, it’s something that I like a lot in music,” confides Arthur Teboul. “For me, the challenge was to seek a form of simplicity, but noble simplicity. Mozart’s simplicity is simple but it’s not badly done,” adds pianist Baptiste Trotignon.

Composed of great pieces of French song, the recital by Arthur Teboul and Baptiste Trotignon revealed to the public for the first time their album titled Piano voice which will be released at the end of August 2024. Their covers playlist features songs that are anchored in the collective memory.

Arthur Teboul and Baptiste Trotignon are continuing their tour across France until October 2024 with a stop at the Salle Pleyel in Paris on September 26 and 30.
