Arson in Mont-Royal | The Press

(Montreal) The Montreal Police Service (SPVM) was entrusted with an investigation into a fire of arson that occurred late Sunday evening in the Mont-Royal sector.

According to Véronique Dubuc, media relations officer for the SPVM, the police officers’ collaboration was requested by the Montreal Fire Department around 11:50 p.m. They were invited to come to the scene of the fire, the entrance to a private residence on Graham Boulevard, not far from Inverness Street.

“According to information gathered at the scene, incendiary devices were thrown by suspects at vehicles parked in the parking lot of the residence. They then fled in a vehicle,” relates Mme Dubuc.

Once extinguished, firefighters found that the damage to the vehicles was minor.

No suspects have yet been apprehended.

A security perimeter was erected to protect the crime scene, while investigators from the SPVM’s arson unit began looking for clues to shed light on this event.
