(Montreal) Arslanbek Makhmudov now knows his opponent for his fight on September 16, when he will defend his North American Boxing Federation (NABF) heavyweight title against veteran Carlos Takam.

Sixth World Boxing Council (WBC) and World Boxing Association (WBA) contender Makhmudov (14-0, 14 KOs) will try to keep his perfect record against Takam (39-6-1, 28 KOs).
Takam lost by K. -O. technique in the sixth round in his last fight against Joe Joyce. His previous losses have come at the hands of big names in the division: Derek Chisora, Anthony Joshua, Joseph Parker and Alexander Povetkin.
The Cameroonian-born boxer delivered 245 career rounds, almost ten times the total of Makhmudov, whose power limited him to 28 rounds of action.
In the semi-finals of this gala presented at the Casino de Montréal, Steven Butler (30-3-1, 25 K. -O.) will put his NABF middleweight belt into play against American Mark DeLuca (28-3, 16 K .-O.). Butler hopes to regain the top-15 in the world with a victory. He is currently ranked 25e WBC contender.
In addition to these two fights, Thomas Chabot (6-0, 6 K. -O.) Alexandre Gaumont (4-0, 2 K. -O.), Hamza Khabbaz (4-0, 1 K. -O.) , Jean Gardy François (2-0, 2 K. -O.) and Martine Vallières-Bisson (5-1, 1 K. -O.) will be in action.
