In Rouen, Maurice Leblanc had surely never imagined that one day the star character of his novels, Arsène Lupin, would be the subject of an XXL game. And yet the company Créanim ‘playful animations has created a giant escape game around the world of the gentleman burglar. More than 400 participants attended.
Two camps, ten stages
On one side the Lupin clan. Arsene Lupine wants to steal the ruby from the mage Cagliostro. On the other, the mage’s camp. Cagliostro wants to discover the true identity of the gentleman burglar. Through a course of ten stages, of a question of observation and a riddle by stage, the participants lent themselves to the game. “Now that we’re here, we’re a little under pressure“, smiles Corinne, who came with her family.
Very quickly, they get caught up in the game.”We must observe the big clock, which animal is just on the left? it’s the sheep, I validate, it’s good, we can continue the adventure“, this mother is relieved while smiling. The next step takes them to rue du Bec. “It’s true that I often pass by, I didn’t even know it was there, rue du Bec. I had never seen the plaque above the street name“, adds Philippe, her husband.
He rediscovers the city of Rouen. “We’re from here, we come from here but we don’t look up anymore“, he explains. Because that is also the goal of such a game. “Revisit the places we pass by every day“, adds Loïc Clémenceau, animator and one of the organizers of this game.
At the end of the game, no reward, but the memory of having been for a time one of the characters in Maurice Leblanc’s novels. In Le Havre, this Saturday, the game attracted 350 participants.
