Arrest: he breaks into strangers’ homes for a joke on TikTok

An 18-year-old who infiltrates strangers’ homes without their consent to make content on TikTok learned the hard way that you can’t do everything on the pretext of a joke, when he was handcuff for public nuisance.

“I do not underestimate the upheaval, distress and widespread concern these videos have caused. Some have called the videos ‘pranks’, but I hope this significant development shows how seriously we take this investigation,” Metropolitan Police Chief Superintendent James Conway told The Independent.

Monday evening, Bacari Ogarro, known by the alias “Mizzy” on TikTok, would have been handcuffed after having made several questionable gestures, shared on social networks.

In one of his videos, the 18-year-old can be seen filming himself alongside his friends, as he infiltrates the house of a lady who worked up front on his land in Hackney. , in East London.

“What are you doing?” she says in a panicked tone to the group who ignores her, before calling her spouse to come and join her “immediately”, while the young man enters a room to sit down briefly on the sofa.

At the end of the video, the three individuals appear to be heading for the exit after being informed that there are children downstairs.

In two other videos, the young man allegedly filmed himself destroying a book in a library and getting into the back seat of a stranger’s car.

The public nuisance arrest is said to follow several videos, “including apparently unsolicited approaches made to members of the public on the street or on transport, and the invasion of addresses without the apparent permission of the owners”, continued the superintendent according to the British media.

In an interview with “The Independent”, the young content creator would have estimated that the negative reaction to his videos would come in part from his skin color.

“I’m a black man doing these things and that’s why there’s such an uproar on the internet,” he reportedly said.
