Wednesday morning, about thirty environmental activists showed their disagreement with Emmanuel Macron’s environmental record. A few meters from the European Parliament, they plunged several upside-down portraits of the Head of State into a can of gasoline.
“We are here in front of the European Parliament to talk about Emmanuel Macron’s climate sabotage” launches Zoé Mary, spokesperson for the non-violent action group Cop 21. “We are in a climate emergency, all the scientists say so”. At least two other environmental groups were present to support the action: Friends of the Earth and Greenpeace.
Come to discuss “Emmanuel Macron’s climate failures”
While the President of the Republic was present this Wednesday in Strasbourg, Frédéric Amiel from Friends of the Earth spoke about the “Emmanuel Macron’s climate failures”, recalling that he is taking over the rotating presidency of the European Union this year.
After three warnings from the police, the activists were dislodged, about thirty minutes after the start of the action.
