At the end of January, the walk began. It was already looking at the impossibly beautiful. Twelve on stage, finely woven harmonies, family of musicians united, brass and winds to boot, how could you ask for more? Listen to this. What we have decanted here from shows recorded in March and June exceeds the calibration adjustments. We embrace the exquisite, we embrace the human, we do each other good in a large group. François Richard’s keyboards contribute considerably to this topography of happiness, broadening the horizon at will. All excellent, of course, but as with James Taylor, excellence is an intention and a project in each song. Whether it is the Beau-Domagian reminiscences or the hundred twists and turns of the solo journey, Rivard and his Flybin Big Band refine the art of reinventing without distorting. Best example: never the songs from the album A hole in the clouds had ever flown this high AND touched down. Note: the show resumes from November to May.
