around forty residents evacuated, the water level is dropping

The department of the North is in orange vigilance with the floods this Sunday, January 9. The river that worried meteorologists the most is the Helpe Minor in Avesnois. But it is in the Valenciennois, on the border with the Belgian border, that the water has overflowed.

About forty residents of Crespin had to be evacuated. It represents about fifteen houses in front of which the emergency services have installed sand dikes to protect them. The Hogneau stream has overflowed.

The recession started this morning, the emergency services are reducing their system. But according to Météo France, the North is still on orange alert to floods.
