While orange alertness to thunderstorms was lifted for the Ardèche at 10 p.m., it runs until midnight in Drôme. It is moreover the south of Drôme which was the most affected in the evening by intense rainfall during the second stormy episode of this Wednesday.
From 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., the Drôme firefighters carried out around forty interventions Between Donzère, Pierrelatte and Montélimar. These are essentially interventions related to flooding in residential cellars, and a few rare road clearings.
Only a few vehicles found themselves momentarily trapped by sudden rises in water on “bowl” roads. For instance, in Montélimar, under the railway bridge, there was up to thirty centimeters of water in a few minutes. The place has already been caught in the past by a sudden rise in water. Residents of Pierrelatte also testify to significant accumulations. Building entrances were flooded.
Emmanuelle, lives in the Beaumet farm district in her villa in Pierrelatte. She tells : “all of a sudden the water entered the garage and we found ourselves with water up to our knees. The garage is in the water with all appliances. I have lived in this house for 12 years and this is the first time that I have experienced this. I can say that I have the beach in Pierrelatte.”
At 10 p.m., the firefighters had not identified anyone to be relocated. No one was evacuated. Forty firefighters were mobilized on these various interventions.
