Dads of fighting age stayed in Ukraine” – Guillaume Vidal, director of the CCAS of Limoges
We do not know the exact day of their arrival but everything is ready to welcome them. A dining room, a nursery, a rest room for children or individual rooms for families with everything necessary in terms of hygiene and comfort. Families mainly made up of mothers, alone or with their children, because the vast majority of men stayed behind to fight:“We have arranged the rooms accordingly because we know that there are mainly women and children among the families we are going to welcome. The dads of fighting age have stayed in Ukraine”confides Guillaume Vidal, the director of the Communal Center for Social Action, who does not hesitate to get his hands dirty to ensure that everything is ready for their arrival, normally at the end of the week.
A temporary solution
The management of the center has been entrusted to Audacia. The recognized association of general interest will be responsible for organizing the accommodation of refugees. It will also be responsible for the reintegration of these displaced families, because this solution is only temporary according to the prefecture of Haute-Vienne, which considers this reception in the premises of the former EHPAD Marcel Faure de La Bastide as an “airlock” before finding a more lasting solution in host families, for example.
