“Today we are witnessing a mobilization of the entire industry to address the issue of preventing and combating gender-based and sexual violence”recalled Fanny de Casimacker, general delegate of the 50/50 Collective.

“It is completely inconsistent that, in this dynamic, at the presidency of the CNC there is still a person who is accused of sexual assault.”

The leader of the organization which supervises the French seventh art is indicted for accusations of sexual assault and attempted rape of his 21-year-old godson in 2020. The producer, who denies these accusations, must be judged on the 14 June.

The subject of sexual violence is also expected to dominate the Cannes Film Festival, which opens Wednesday May 15.
