Around 400 people gathered in Cherbourg on Saturday June 15 to demand the provisional detention of the police officer who fatally shot Sulivan Sauvey on Sunday June 9 during an intervention, reports France Bleu Cotentin.

This demonstration took place in front of the Cherbourg judicial court at the call of the young man’s family. The official has already been indicted for intentional homicide and placed under strict judicial supervision.

Sulivan’s older brother denounces preferential treatment and assures, on the Instagram account created by the young man’s family, that other actions will be taken to put pressure.

The family will be present in Paris on Saturday July 6 to demonstrate alongside the relatives of Adama Traoré, another young man who died during a police intervention in 2016.
