If he thinks his project is “singular and must be defended”, the candidate of the “Remontada de la France” recognizes that since his declaration of candidacy on September 4, “let’s be honest, nothing has changed”. But more generally “all the left-wing candidates have fallen: the Greens have not had a primary effect, Anne Hidalgo, who was the highest, drops each time she speaks, and Jean-Luc Mélenchon no longer manages to take off”.

None of these three main left-wing candidates achieves the 10% of voting intentions in the polls in the long term. According to Arnaud Montebourg, “the voters of the left are withdrawing from the presidential election, they are depressed by the disunity. (…) No candidate can create the dynamic to the detriment of the others because the people of the left do not want to choose”. And the former socialist minister to prevent: “The left is, if it does not unite, threatened with disappearance.”
