This is a very pretty Chenin Blanc, from the vineyards of the village of Brézé, one of the most famous in the Saumur appellation, in the Loire.
Arnaud Lambert operates the 40 hectares of the family estate. He took over from his father in 2005, converted viticulture to organic and then to biodynamics.
Pale in color, this white Saumur opens with a rather discreet nose with accents of apple blossom, quince and apple. Very dry, it is not very complex, but shows consistency, a lot of freshness and harmony. Very light tannins even bring a little texture and relief, and lengthen the finish on delicate bitterness that calls for the table.
Light enough to drink as an aperitif, it will also accompany crab, shrimp salad or simply grilled fish with lots of fresh herbs.
