Army releases identities of two soldiers killed in helicopter crash

(OTTAWA) The military has released the names of two Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) officers killed in a helicopter crash in eastern Ontario on Tuesday.


One of them is of Quebec origin: it is Captain Marc Larouche, 53 years old. He joined 450 Tactical Helicopter Squadron in 2016.

The other is Captain David Domagala, 32, of Woodstock, Ont. He had been with 450 Squadron since 2019.

The family of the two unfortunate officers allowed the army to give their identity.

Both were taking part in a night exercise near the Petawawa garrison when their aircraft crashed into the Ottawa River.

Two other crew members survived the crash. The RCAF Flight Safety Branch has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
