A 25-year-old man arrested Thursday appeared the same day before the Salaberry-de-Valleyfield courthouse, in Montérégie, on charges related to firearms trafficking.
The regional mixed squad (ERM) Montérégie conducted searches in two residences where the police seized two electric weapons and a crossbow.
The Salaberry-de-Valleyfield operation comes after an investigation was launched at the beginning of the month, when around twenty police officers were mobilized.
The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) tactical intervention group was also called upon to help in the fight against organized crime.
