In November, Laval police arrested a man linked to street gangs suspected of having fired several firearm projectiles in the Pont-Viau sector.
Detonations were heard on October 6 around 11:55 a.m. on rue de Brest, in Laval. “The investigation, carried out by the Crimes against the Person squad, showed that five shots were fired in the direction of a group of individuals,” the police force said in a press release.
The shooting caused no casualties. Ptchyno Bruno, a 25-year-old man known to the police, is believed to be the alleged shooter in this case.
According to our information, the police consider the suspect to be a member of the Profit Kollektaz, a street gang from Rivière-des-Prairies.
He was arrested a month after the event in a licensed establishment in Montreal, with the collaboration of the Groupe Éclipse of the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM). Ptchyno Bruno, released from prison last summer, is now accused of discharging a firearm with particular intent and breach of order. He had been detained in the past on firearm and drug possession charges. He will remain incarcerated and his case will return to court on December 18.
