Sale dedicated to the 92 Olympics

Several objects related to the Albertville 92 Olympics were to be auctioned on Monday, including an Olympic flame. This modern art object, nicknamed “The Horn” due to its shape, was machined from stainless steel in Ugitech’s furnaces in Ugine. This is one of the 130 flames designed at the time by designer Philippe Starck.

According to our information the olympic flame was not stolen, because the items for sale were in a chest and not in the room. The auction, which was to start at 2:15 p.m., has been canceled. The starting price for the flame had been set between 22,000 and 25,000 euros.
