Armed attack in Montreal-North | A teenager seriously injured

A few days before the end of the school year, a 17-year-old teenager was seriously injured by a stab Monday afternoon in the courtyard of Calixa-Lavallée high school, in the Montreal-North borough.

“I was behind the school and when I arrived to join him, he was bleeding. I called 911 in panic. I was crying,” says the victim’s friend, met in the evening on the edge of the secondary school.

Monday was not a normal day at Calixa-Lavallée school. “It was a day of recovery and exams for some students,” says the one who is also a student in 5e secondary. When leaving school, around 4:40 p.m., his friend was allegedly injured by a stab wound to the upper body on avenue Pelletier, near boulevard Henri-Bourassa. The teenager was transported to a hospital, where he is now out of danger.

The teenager was stabbed Monday afternoon in the courtyard of Calixa-Lavallée high school, in the Montreal-North borough.

“I don’t know the details, but my boyfriend is not someone who looks for problems,” says the young woman. According to initial information, a conflict degenerated between several individuals in connection with a possible theft of bicycles, declared the spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), Sabrina Gauthier. There have been no arrests yet.

Monday evening, investigators examined the scene to try to understand the circumstances surrounding the event. Cones marked the crime scene in the high school playground. A few meters further on, in an alley, a bicycle had been abandoned on the ground near a bench.

The tragedy occurred around 4:40 p.m. on avenue Pelletier, near boulevard Henri-Bourassa.

“Luckily, I finished high school. But if I was in secondary 1, I wouldn’t feel safe,” said the victim’s friend. Conflicts are frequent at this school, she maintains. “Calixa is known for that. It doesn’t happen often that people get hurt with sharp objects, but fights with police officers who get involved happen often. »
