A man was injured in the upper body after being attacked by a group of attackers aged in their 20s shortly before 6 p.m.
Officer Raphaël Bergeron, spokesperson for the Montreal Police Service (SPVM), was not immediately able to confirm whether the injuries were inflicted by a knife or a firearm.
“Some people reported hearing muffled noises,” he said. The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment and was conscious at the time. At the time of writing, it was not possible to know whether or not the victim’s life was in danger.
The attack occurred on Rue Legendre, in Ahuntsic, Mr. Bergeron said. According to testimonies relayed on social networks, it would have more precisely taken place in the Boisé-de-Saint-Sulpice park, just behind Ahuntsic College and to the west of Christophe-Colomb Boulevard.
The police officers who responded to the call were able to locate three suspects who had tried to flee, but “were arrested not far from the scene”. They were arrested then arrested and must be met by SPVM investigators to assess their involvement in the event. All, like the victim, were aged in their “early twenties”.
