A 19-year-old man was injured in the upper body after being attacked by a group of attackers aged in their twenties, shortly before 6 p.m., in the Ahuntsic district.
Officer Raphaël Bergeron, spokesperson for the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM), affirmed in the evening that the injuries had been inflicted by a bladed weapon, in particular. The 19-year-old man was also “beaten up” by the suspects. The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment and was conscious at the time – she was in a stable condition that evening.
The attack occurred on Rue Legendre, in Ahuntsic, Mr. Bergeron said. According to testimonies relayed on social networks, it would have more precisely taken place in the Boisé-de-Saint-Sulpice park, just behind Ahuntsic College and to the west of Christophe-Colomb Boulevard.
The police officers who responded to the call were able to locate three suspects who had tried to flee, before being “arrested not far from the scene”. Two were 22 years old and the other was 23 years old. All were arrested then arrested and must be met by SPVM investigators.
The motive for the attack remained unknown in the evening, and the SPVM had still not been able to establish whether the victim and the suspects knew each other.
