Armed attack | A man injured on a bus in Montreal West

A 22-year-old man was stabbed Wednesday after a conflict degenerated in a bus traveling on Avon Road, in the west of Montreal.

According to Caroline Chèvrefils, public relations officer at the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM), a call was made to 911 around 3:20 p.m. concerning a conflict between two passengers on a “public transport bus”.

When they arrived on the scene, the police located the victim, “injured in the lower body by a stab wound”. They also arrested a 24-year-old suspect, who must be interviewed by investigators. “According to initial information, a conflict degenerated between the victim and the suspect,” said Mme Honeysons.

The victim was conscious and was transported to a hospital, where his life is not in danger.

The event occurred near the intersection of Milton Avenue. The scene has since been protected to allow investigators and forensic identification technicians to understand the exact circumstances of the altercation. The canine unit was also deployed to the scene to search for clues.
