Armed assault in a Montreal bar

A 31-year-old man was transported to a hospital following an armed attack that occurred in a bar in the Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension district on Friday night.

Around 3:40 a.m., a 911 call was answered after a conflict between approximately five individuals degenerated in the establishment, located near 17th avenue and Jean-Talon Street East.

A suspect then hit the victim in the upper body with a sharp object. His injuries are not life-threatening.

Witnesses were met and videotapes were viewed to shed light on this matter. Those involved appeared heavily intoxicated.

The victim will be met during the day to find out more about the incident.

Investigators from the forensic identification service will go to the site. A security perimeter was erected around the crime scene.
