Oscar Jegou and Hugo Auradou could return to French soil very soon. The two French rugby players, charged with aggravated rape in mid-July in Argentina, have been authorized by the courts to leave the South American country. “from now on”announced the provincial justice of Mendoza on Tuesday, September 3.

At a hearing in Mendoza, the prosecution did not oppose allowing their departure. “This resolution therefore remains valid, and they will be able to leave the country from now on.”the statement added. The day before, the prosecution had already authorized the two French players to leave Argentina, specifying that if there was an extension of the psychological assessments (which the plaintiff’s lawyers are requesting), “we will see if [les joueurs] must be here or not. If there is no extension, permission to leave the country will be granted definitively”the spokesperson explained.

The prosecution added that the return to France would not be without conditions. If they return to France, the rugby players will have to: “to present themselves if summoned to the Argentine consulate in France, to establish a real and virtual address”or even “to report to Mendoza if asked”.
