(Buenos Aires) The first two seeds reached the semi-finals of the Argentina Open on Friday.
World No. 1 seed and No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz beat Serbia’s Dusan Lajovic 6-4, 6-2 in the clay-court tournament.
Alcaraz struggled in the first set but made several game winners in the second to take the win.
“It’s my second game of the year, so I’m happy and I’m looking forward to the next ones,” said Alcaraz.
The 19-year-old will face the winner of the match between Francisco Cerundolo and Bernabe Zapata Miralles.
Second-seeded Cameron Norrie defeated Tomás Martin Etcheverry 5-7, 6-0, 6-3.
He will next play against Juan Pablo Varillas, who beat Lorenzo Musetti 6-4, 6-4.
