In the midst of the recall campaign, should we fear a shortage of Pfizer vaccines? David Lisnard, the new president of the association of mayors of France, challenged the government on this subject after several local alerts. The vaccination center of Aix-en-Provence (Bouches-du-Rhône) had to suspend its appointment scheduling.

Running out of Pfizer vaccines in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur is the fear of the mayor of Cannes, David Lisnard. The new president of the association of mayors of France, relayed on his Facebook page a letter from the regional health agency announcing a lack of Pfizer vaccines. In a letter addressed to the Minister of Health, he is worried about vaccine supply restrictions and only being able to open niches with the Moderna vaccine.

Several mayors have the same apprehension. However, Olivier reaffirmed it on Friday December 3: “Having two doses of Pfizer and one dose of Moderna is no problem.” According to the Directorate General of Health, 4.2 million doses have been delivered since November 29, including 340,000 from Pfizer and 1.4 million of Moderna, the vaccine reserved for over thirty years. The government has indicated that deliveries from Pfizer are expected to accelerate in the coming weeks.
