On the Telegram application, journalists from France Télévisions spotted an unequivocal channel, which says it sells stolen clothes, as well as fireworks and weapons. On online resale platforms, ads are also suspicious. Luxury telephones, almost new, are at bargain prices. Sellers appear to hide their true identities, using fake profile photos.
Contacted, the brands say they have become aware of the phenomenon. The Vinted platform thus makes it known that its teams “are constantly mobilized to detect and counter new malicious behavior. In addition, we work closely with the police.” Five years in prison and a fine of 375,000 euros are incurred by those who engage in concealment.
