Quebec has smashed its hospitalization records several times since the start of the year. On Friday, January 7, there were for the first time more than 2,000 people with COVID-19 in hospitals in the province.
Faced with this anticipated overload of the health system, the Legault government has shifted several regions to level 4 of load shedding, or the maximum alert level, while all the others are at the third level.
