Actress Anya Taylor-Joy, who starred in the series The Queen’s Gambiton Netflix, is part of the distribution of Dune: Part Twowhich has its world premiere on Thursday in London.
The 27-year-old American actress would play a “main role” in the franchise, according to the magazine Varietywho however did not specify which one.
The rumor was already spreading. On social networks, a screenshot from the social network Letterboxd circulated in the last hours: we could see the film there Dune: Part Two in Anya Taylor-Joy’s filmography. The latter made a surprise appearance Thursday on the red carpet of the film’s premiere in London, thus confirming her participation in Denis Villeneuve’s film.
Her name joins those of Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Léa Seydoux, Souheila Yacoub and Christopher Walken, who join the cast. Several actors are also back: Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgård, Charlotte Rampling, Javier Bardem, and of course Zendaya and Timothée Chalamet.
Winner of a Golden Globe for her role in The Queen’s Gambitin 2020, Anya Taylor-Joy will also star this year in Furiosa, scheduled for release in May. The story of the film precedes that of Mad Max: Fury Roadreleased in 2015 and starring Charlize Theron.
Remember that on February 28, director Denis Villeneuve and lead actor Timothée Chalamet will attend the premiere of the film at the Scotiabank Cinema in Montreal.
