Antony Starr (The Boys) arrested for assault and battery and sentenced to 12 months in prison!

The actor Anthony Starr was given a 12-month suspended prison sentence for attacking the owner of a Costa Blanca bar. The New Zealander had been arrested while inebriated.

The 46-year-old actor who plays the superhero Homelander in the Amazon Prime series The Boys, and who is currently shooting Guy Ritchie’s next film in Spain, was also forced to pay 4,000 pounds sterling (about 5,000 euros) in compensation. The trial, which took place quickly in the court of Alicante, taught the actor that he will only escape punishment if he pays his victim within 72 hours.

The actor left the court with his face covered by a mask (although it is no longer compulsory in Spain) and a hood. He did not speak before getting into a taxi. The latter was convicted of assault and battery after serving two nights in police custody. He had been arrested early in the morning on Wednesday by the police who had been warned of a riot near the bar. The victim of the 21-year-old actor told the police that they had received two punches before having a glass smashed in the face. He was taken to hospital where he received four stitches in his arch.

A member of the tribunal then said on Thursday: “A speedy trial eventually took place and the Alicante Court of Inquiry sentenced the arrested man to 12 months in prison and a fine for injuries. (…) The detainee’s state of drunkenness was taken into account as a mitigating circumstance. The sentence was the result of an agreement between the prosecution and the man who was subsequently sentenced. (…) His prison sentence is suspended on the condition that he does not commit another crime within two years and pays the indemnity within the next 72 hours.”

Fans of the actor just have to hope he sticks around for a long time and focuses on his TV and movie projects!
