A first Olympic taste for Antoine Dupont. Whoever will participate in the Olympics for the first time this summer with the French rugby sevens team will have the honor of being the last torchbearer of the Olympic flame, Friday May 17, in Toulouse. The torch relay will stop in Haute-Garonne and it is planned to pass, at the end of the day, through the Ernest-Wallon stadium, the home of Stade Toulousain, reigning French champions. The president of the Haute-Garonne departmental council, Sébastien Vincini, announced, on X, that Antoine Dupont will light the cauldron.
The flame arrived in Marseille on Wednesday and will pass through the hands of 10,000 “scouts” in 400 cities in France, to end its journey in Paris and set the cauldron ablaze during the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics on July 26. Its relay is broadcast live every day on the digital channel dedicated to Paris 2024 on france.tv.
