Captain of the French XV, and member of the Olympic rugby sevens team, Antoine Dupont has broken his silence. Like other athletes, the scrum half wanted to call for a vote ahead of the early legislative elections on June 30 and July 7.

“If I have a message, it’s above all to go and vote. We have the chance to express ourselves by going to the polls. It’s the first thing to do“, assured Antoine Dupont at a press conference, Thursday June 20, on the eve of the Top 14 semi-final, against La Rochelle.

“We, in rugby, have values of diversity, where everyone brings added value to the collective through their difference. These are values that we must bring to our society in these difficult times,” added the captain of the rugby Blues.

Last week, Blues football striker Marcus Thuram took a clear position against the far-right National Rally party in the run-up to the legislative elections, while Kylian Mbappé took a position “against all extremes”. At the same time, on the eve of the French football team’s match against the Netherlands, Antoine Griezmann also reiterated this call to vote.
