It is not always easy to manage big TV events especially when they are broadcast live. Antoine de Caunes will not say the opposite since he has seen green and not ripe after having been master of ceremonies for the Caesars nine times and that he is preparing to become one again for the tenth time. Far from wanting to reproduce the mistakes already made the past mistakes the two previous editions although two big stars are already at war behind the scenes, it seems to have a certain set of requirements.
Antoine de Caunes is more determined than ever to spend a dream evening on February 25th. This is why he does not want to follow the example of the one who preceded him, that is to say Marina Foïs. During a press conference, the one who thought he was a mermaid did not spare him since he swung: “I wouldn’t have liked to be in Marina Foïs’ place. The configuration was so special, the atmosphere was freezing with only 150 spectators in the room and very few films were released because of the confinements. It was difficult to build something around that. I hope to find the right balance between valve and respect for the celebration of cinema, which like the whole country is coming out of a difficult period.
The atmosphere is not necessarily very joyful as the César 2022 approaches since everything can go wrong at any time. We think in particular of the Roman Polanski controversy in 2020 or even the surprise happening of Corinne Masiero who divided in 2021. Moreover, Antoine de Caunes was formal: once, not twice! “I don’t want another Masiero. I want to avoid this register. I want a joyful evening, emotions and laughter and put cinema back at the heart of this gala” underlined the former acolyte of José Garcia at the microphone of the Figaro.
There is no doubt that Antoine de Caunes has taken good notes concerning the errors not to be reproduced and that he will do his best to ensure that the guests as well as the viewers have an evening as good as possible!
