(Ottawa) Prime Minister Justin Trudeau assures that the federal government is carrying out a “comprehensive review” of the process that led to the granting of funding to an anti-racism organization whose consultant posted several messages on social networks about “Jewish white supremacists”.

Trudeau says Ottawa will ensure that no racist person or organization receives federal funding in the future.
Last week, Diversity Minister Ahmed Hussen confirmed that the federal government was withdrawing $133,000 in funding for the Community Media Advocacy Center (CMAC) and suspending one of its anti-racism projects because of comments made. on the web by their lead consultant, Laith Marouf.
The Prime Minister spoke on Tuesday as an investigation is underway to examine other grants that have been awarded to the organization.
Crown-Indigenous Relations Minister Marc Miller, meanwhile, wants the grant his constituency office recommended the group be given back through the Canada Summer Jobs program in 2018.
The CMAC did not immediately respond to a new request from The Canadian Press to comment on the case.
In an interview last week, Mr. Marouf’s lawyer made a distinction between his client’s posts about people he calls “Jewish white supremacists” and Jews in general, saying that Mr. Marouf did not no animosity towards the Jewish faith as a collective group.
