The largest clothing chain in the United States released the Yeezy Gap collection in 2020. Last month, it announced that it was ending this collaboration, but had not removed the products from its shelves.
While Adidas severed all ties with the musician on Monday, Gap said Tuesday that all of its stores would get rid of Yeezy Gap products and the brand’s website would be shut down.
Recall that Ye tweeted in mid-October that he intended to attack Jews, in a tweet deleted by the social network, which earned him a suspension from the platform. Instagram also removed the musician’s account. The latter had appeared shortly before with a t-shirt flanked by the slogan “While Lives Matter” during a fashion show in Paris.
“Anti-Semitism, racism and hatred in any form are inexcusable and not tolerated consistent with our values,” Gap said in a statement Tuesday.
