Justice: Anticor will challenge the non-renewal of its approval

Justice: Anticor will challenge the non-renewal of its approval – (France info)

The anti-corruption association Anticor had its request for renewal of approval refused by the government.

The government has not responded to the request for renewal of approval from the Anticor association. The Ministry of the Interior had until midnight on December 26 to respond but there was radio silence. The president of Anticor, Élise Van Beneden, says she is not surprised by this decision: “as our action disturbs the government, there is no political will to renew the approval, we are not surprised but we are very saddened.”

An “incomprehensible decision”

This approval allowed the association to become a civil party in corruption cases. Since its creation in 2002, Anticor has been involved in more than 160 cases ranging from the attribution of the football world championship to Qatar to the investigation for illegal taking of interest targeting Alexis Kholer, the secretary general of theElysed. This refusal shocks the political class. Boris Vallaud, president of the PS group in the National Assembly, speaks of a “incomprehensible decision” while Alexis Corbière (LFI) describes this choice as “stunning, revolting, disturbing…” The association will contest this decision before the administrative court.
